Childhood

This is for the first time that I am trying to put my thoughts on paper. So, I was looking for something easy and simple to write on. I thought upon many topics such as day-to-day issues, current hot topics, historical personalities and so on. But I couldn’t find a familiar bond with any of them. So, as I continued my search, I came across an article on childhood. And I thought, yes! This is where everyone could relate their own childhood memories and cherish them.

Childhood! What else can I use to describe it? It is the most pleasant, energetic and happy-go-lucky phase of our life. We need not take any efforts for doing something, be it be for us or for others. We were unaware of any particular language.
Whenever we required something, we neither had to follow any long procedure nor any protocol nor did we write any application to get it done! The only protocol that we followed, which was probably the most powerful I must say, was crying! Just cry out loud on the top of your voice, and everyone would rush to see what had happened. Suddenly we could see funny faces moving around us, everyone trying to play with our toys or make some funny noises. A mini circus would be put up! And this was the ultimate level of happiness for us!

When we grew 3-4 years old, we went through the most stupid but a very innocent phase. I remember doing ample of activities that I am sure you all must have done too! I would pretend being asleep so that someone would carry me to bed.
I had one four colored pen and tried to push down all the buttons at the same time. I used to try to balance the electrical switch between ON and OFF state. I used to close fridge door very slowly so that I could see when exactly the fridge light goes off. I used to climb the slides from front side only to have someone slide down and knock me to the ground. Every time the telephone rang, I had to be the first one to answer it. I used to restart NFS game when I knew I was going to lose. I was scared by the thought that a tree would be growing inside my stomach, when I accidentally swallowed lemon seeds.

I may have done many more weird things, but I remember only these of all of them.
I thought the only use of computer was to do paint and play games like Dave, The Prince, The Lion King!
And how can I forget cartoons? Flintstones, The Jacksons, Dexter, Pokemon, Noddy, Bob the Builder, Oswald, and all of them.
I only wish now those beautiful, jovial days come back!

I remember we were asked, “What you want to become when you grow up?”  I had a different answer every time - doctor, engineer, teacher, pilot and what not! But today I know the correct answer to that question. “When I grow up, I want to become a child again!
